Susan Kliewer - Thirsty Man, Edition of 45

Thirsty Man is a Koshare (Hopi clown) that Kliewer saw at a Kachina dance at the Hopi community of Moenkopi.

"Koshares represent human frailties and are often quite naughty," says Kliewer. "Thirsty Man represents gluttony."

Thirsty Man is part of a series of sculptures based on Koshares that Kliewer has watched and enjoyed at Moenkopi. The other pieces in the series are:

• Putter Man
• Watermelon Man
