Acquired from the son of Thelma Finley Smith. Thelma and Jim Pugh had a shop in Venice, California and were famous for their carvings of Spanish ships in the late 1950s and 1960s. They signed their carvings with "TJP." One the front of the sculpture is a brass plaque with these initials, and they also carved the initials in the wood on the back. The owner has authorized us to lower the price from $650 to $335. This is a wonderful collecting opportunity.
