Southern Plains Leather Beaded Ochre Leggings c. 1890s, 19" x 9" (DW1246)

This item is in good condition. One legging has 3 buttons missing on one row of buttons, it has a whole row of 21 buttons missing, and it has 3 breaks in the white beading along the rim with only 2 beads missing. The other legging has 1 button missing in the one row of buttons, it has a whole row of 21 buttons missing, and it has no bead loss. There is an od tag on one leg stating "58," and the other legging shows some white paper of a partially removed tag. The leather is soft and flexible with faint areas of staining. Please review the images. Acquired from a private collection in Maryland. These have been in the same family since the turn of the 20th century and had once belonged to Tim McCoy, an American actor.
