Executed in 1922 this study according to Blumenschein was his "first and most important impression of the Deer Dance Taos”and was the study for Of Moon, Morning Star and Evening Star 1922 which resides in the Gilcrease Permanent Collection, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Blumenschein discusses this study in a letter he wrote for the Thomas Gilcrease Foundation, the original letter resides in the Smithsonian Archives of American Art.
