86.1g, 17" length, 2.5" x 1" pendant. Stones include turquoise, howlite, coral, and jet. Hallmarked by the artist on verso. Preston Monongye was an award-winning artist and silversmith. His uncle and mentor was the famous Hopi silversmith, Gene Pooyouma. Monongye created works for Tanner's Indian Arts and Crafts Center in Gallup, New Mexico, and later taught the craft at the Phoenix Indian Center during the mid-1970s. Monongye was also a skilled painter and woodworker.
