"Owls have always drawn my curiosity and attention. They are like children of the forest…. big-eyed, they seem to have the wide-eyed innocence of a child, yet their ability to mysteriously swivel their heads while sitting so still, makes them seem all-seeing.  Every indigenous culture has some symbolism attached to these birds. In the Southwest, the owl is associated with one’s own soul in the Hispanic culture, and various Native American cultures see them as important liaisons to the spirit world. In Greek mythology, the owl sat on Athena’s blind side, enabling her to see whole truths. So Owls represented knowledge, feminine intuition, and seeing beyond deceit, masks, and the superficial." - Star Liana York
