DETAILS
30.25" x 23" framed. Ex New Mexico collection. Nathan Benn's photography stood out during its time, as colored photos weren't considered a serious documentary medium. Following his college graduation from the University of Miami in 1972, he began working at the National Geographic Society, where 300 of his photos were published. His work has been displayed at numerous exhibitions, including the Shelburne Museum (2015), the Rijksmuseum, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, the Chrysler Museum, and many others. His work is interesting because he doesn't stage his subjects; instead, he chooses to portray them in their natural environments. He documented American life and culture between 1997 and 1990 with his colorful and authentic photography.
