"Friends of mine had invited me to a party they were having, and upon being greeted at the door, the host asked me if I wanted to see their fat cat. Seemed a particularly odd question so I did, of course, say yes. I was led to a room where the cat was kept while the party was on, and Jeb certainly was a surprise. He looked like a basketball with head, tail and legs. He was so unusual, I decided I wanted to sculpt him, but in the process found that I didn’t want to make him quite as round as he actually was because it looked too implausible!
