DETAILS
The moccasins measure 5" x 5.5" x 2", each. They are in fair condition. The leather is sinew sewn; there is overall surface wear, significant stiffness to the leather, and tassel wear. The drum measures 2.25" x 8.5". It is in good condition; the leather is sinew sewn. There is some surface wear, likely due to ethnographic use, and slightly chipped areas to the wood on the sides. Acquired from a private collection in Arizona. The owner inherited these from her grandfather, who was a traveling casket salesman in the Southwest during the early 1900s. Much of his collection was donated to various museums.
