Evans, Terry
Wood artist Terry Evans has taken fine craft into the realm of fine art with his remarkable laminated wood boxes and sculptures. Evans’s process is complex. He laminates exotic hardwood lumber and veneers, then carves, slices, shapes, and sands each piece before reassembling the wood into the one-of-a-kind, layered creation for which he is so well known.
Evans’s work is featured in the Montalto Bohlen Collection of fine wood art and has been included in major wood art exhibitions at The Detroit Institute of Art, University of Michigan Art Museum, Museum of Art and Design, and most recently, the Peabody and Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts.
