Colorado artist Veryl Goodnight is known mainly from her acclaim as an award-winning sculptor - but she also creates compelling paintings well. "When a subject inspries me to paint, it is because I am seeing light," Goodnight says. "The challenge comes in taking paint and creating a sense of light and an illusiton of three dimensions on a two-dimensional surface."
The artist likes to work directly from life as much as possible and has located her studio next to her barn and “model run,” where she can see animals in motion. Goodnight is a 2016 inductee into the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Fort Worth, Texas.
