Sculptor Veryl Goodnight finds bears to be genuinely entertaining to watch. She discusses her inspiration for Toe Jam:
"I was with a group of artist friends in Bozeman, Montana, when we met this grizzly bear cub and other wildlife used for movie work. 'Yosemite' played very hard before sitting down a few feet from me, to clean his back paw. In the roar of laughter, someone called out: 'Toe Jam.'"
Toe Jam was published in Western Art Collector magazine, December 2008, page 81, and also is featured in the artist's book, No Turning Back: The Art of Veryl Goodnight.
