41.25" x 47.5" framed. Relined canvas. Writing on the back reads "Oh that's an Indian Pony”¦". Includes picture of canvas prior to relining. Painted for the "Wild Geese" by Martha Ostenso Pictorial Review, October 1925. The caption on the stretcher bar is in Koerner's hand. Acquired from a private collection in Arizona. W.H.D. Koerner was a German immigrant to the United States who traveled along the Santa Fe Railroad illustrating the great American West. Click on the biography link to read more.
