Curt Brill - Seated Linda

As with every Curt Brill sculpture, Seated Linda is visually compelling from all sides, not just the front. In particular, this work is an exercise in abstract geometry - notice the many triangles formed by the arms, legs, and elbows.

The face of Seated Linda has only a mere suggestion of features to allow the viewer to project whatever expression or visage they imagine.

“I often have people remark to me about a certain expression they’ve seen in one of my sculptures,” the artist says, “yet I purposely do not put in any specifics in the facial features. Instead, the viewer has created a story in their mind - exactly the kind of experience I want them to have.”
