Blackfoot Beaded Leather Gauntlets with Floral Design c. 1925-1930, 13.5" x 8.25"

This item is in very good condition. There are no signs of bead loss, and the leather has some slight spotting. The tassels are nicely intact, with some minor wear. Ex Arizona collection. The owner inherited this from his grandfather, who was born in 1875 near Charlottesville, Virginia, where he received his law degree from the University of Virginia. He later opened his law practice in Butte, Montana in 1896 at the age of 21, working as the City Attorney between the year of 1911 and 1913. He practiced for a total of 62 years, and became known as "the champion of 'underdogs'" appearing before the circuit court of appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States. He passed away in the year 1959 at the age of 83. These gauntlets were collected by the owner's grandfather between the year 1925 and 1930, in Montana.
