Summer Spitsbergen Biography

Summer Spitsbergen Biography

From an early age, Summer Spitsbergen has been an adventurer, traveler, and explorer. She came into the world in true Old West style, being born on a ranch in the wilderness of Montana. Her Father, a ranch hand for the Broken O cattle company, and Mother welcomed Summer one early August morning at the ranch house in Augusta. After a short time, Summer and her family found themselves back in their native town of Pagosa Springs Colorado, where Summer developed some of her most fond childhood memories. Pagosa has been a continual source of inspiration, and a true Southwest influence for much of her work. After her Fathers construction company took them west to Bakersfield, California for a season, the family has returned back to Pagosa Springs--a delight to Summers heart.

The discovery of her love for art was at a very young age, and as a native to the west she had a special connection to the vast and vibrant landscapes. Summer has caught a fire to use her gifts, and draw on this inspiration to fulfill the true purpose of her art--helping orphans. Being able to use her gift for a bigger vision is a driving factor that inspires her on a daily basis. It is funny to think that the landscapes of the southwest could touch the orphans of Asia and the Middle east, but with the commitment to see her success bless others, her paintings are truly changing lives.

In 2012 Summer moved to sunny San Diego for a new season in her life. Living in various locations in the county gave fresh perspective and inspiration. The new city brought exciting subject matter, and she often found herself exploring the coastline throughout the county--from the cliffs of Point Loma to the amazing beachscapes of Encinitas, where she would sketch and paint.

It was in San Diego that she met her husband, Daniel. The two were married in 2015, and a new adventure began, as she was awakened to the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and the ranching communities of southeast Oregon. Directly after marrying, Summer and her husband made their home on a beautiful working cattle ranch, where they are learning and designing systems of sustainable agriculture. The motivation behind this is their commitment for the establishment of sustainable farming practices on orphanages around the world, specifically in developing nations.

Summer and Daniel have two young boys, Micah and Malachi. They are already learning the ropes and will soon be a top hand for the team as they continue to raise fullblood Wagyu beef cattle, and build a Missions Headquarters base, which they will be able to be replicated across the world.
