5g, 1" x 0.625". Acquired from a private collection in Arizona. The Helen Corcoran (1900-1967) collection comes directly from her descendants. Corcoran who worked with C.G. Wallace at his trading post in Zuni from 1940-60 and helped developed Navajo and Zuni artisans. An image on the back of a Sothebys Parke Bernet catalog sold many of C.G. Wallace's personal pieces in November of 1975 and was considered a watershed moment for Native American jewelry. The photo showed Mrs. Corcoran with Mr. Wallace, attesting to her importance to Wallace's operation. It's a rare opportunity to be able to have such a stellar provenance from one of the most important trading posts of the early 20th century.
