73.8g, 30" length, 1" x 1.25" center pendant. Stones include turquoise, serpentine, jasper, spiny oyster, catlinite, mother of pearl, abalone, and jet. Acquired from a private collection in Massachusetts. The word “heishi” means “shell,” although today it is often used to describe the cut style of beads which are small, flat, disc-shapes. It is not uncommon to hear the phrase “turquoise heishi,” for example.
