"Born in 1856, Two Whistles was a Mountain Crow. At age 18 he led a party which captured a hundred horses from the Sioux. He also participated in four severe battles against the Sioux and Arapaho. During an outbreak at Crow Agency in 1887, Two Whistles was shot in the arm and breast. His medicine was strong, he lost his arm, not his life. The medicine hawk he proudly wears was purchased with a horse." - Susan Kliewer
