"My longstanding interest with the Navajo people has made me curious about other Native American cultures of the Southwest, particularly the Apache. As warriors and hunters, the Apache have a long and proud history. But I wondered, what were they like alone and in private?

After a long day, a Mescalero Apache hunter probably cherished a rare quiet moment. Here, he pauses to watch the full moon rise over the mesas and his sleeping camp."
-Susan Kliewer

This sculpture has a traditional bronze color with a soft hint of blue over the hunter and rocks to convey the peace and solitude of the night. The contoured base is made of walnut.
