Comanche Warrior depicts Quanah Parker (1845-1911), often referred to as “The Last Chief of the Comanche.”
Parker played a notable role in the Red River War, clashing many times with the United States Army.
Realizing that the Comanche’s primary food source, bison, was being deliberately hunted into extinction by European-Americans, Parker surrendered and led his people peaceably to the Fort Sill, Oklahoma reservation.
Quanah Parker became a rancher in Oklahoma and died in 1911.
