Goodnight, Veryl

Colorado-based artist Veryl Goodnight is one of the most acclaimed Western sculptors working in the United States today. Monumental versions of her work have been installed in both the United States and Europe - most notable of these works is The Day the Wall Came Down, a seven-ton sculpture commemorating the fall of the Berlin Wall which is installed in both Berlin, Germany and the George H. W. Bush Memorial Library at Texas A & M University. The sculptor often works directly from life - her sculpture studio is located next to her barn and includes a “model run” to watch animals in motion. Such attention to detail has earned Goodnight many accolades and her work is part of important collections such as the Central Intelligence Agency (both in Langley, VA and Washington, DC), the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, the Denver Zoo, and the Houston Astrodome.
