Nisbet, P. A.

Following Naval Service in 1974, P. A. Nisbet started a free-lance commercial art business providing graphic design and illustration to over twenty-five national organizations. In 1980 P. A. Nisbet re-located to the Southwest and began painting landscapes. Since then, Peter has completed and sold hundreds of paintings which are derived from his experiences traveling the world. He has traveled to such remote places as the South Pole and China, but his preferred locale for painting is in the deserts of the Southwest and Mexico.

From his time in the Navy on a ship that was involved in a major ship-to-ship collision during Vietnam and how this moment affected how he sees things, to just his whole world view and how he wants to be remembered as a painter. It's clear that he puts that personal history and his place in the broader history of the world on a very high pedestal regarding what he does and why he does it, which is really trying to make an impact in every painting that he does.
