Hand-written in ink on the tag: "Two studies of buffalo 1942/ Studies for Parkman's O.T." (Oregon Trail). Published in an article titled "Collecting Letters, Drawings, and Studies: The Art of Collecting Works on Paper" by John O'Hern in Western Art Collector, November 2010 issue, page 77.
