8" tall with feathers. Original Kachina designation comes from “Kachinas: A Hopi Artist’s Documentary” by Barton Wright, 1973. Acquired from a private collection in Florida. This kachina is from the Layne collection. Dr. Layne collected between 1980 and 2002, and is a vertebrate zoologist. He had a lifelong interest in Native American cultures. Dr. Layne kept a catalog of his collection and documented the Hopi carver's name and location, type of kachina, and published reference for the designation.
