The painting is in excellent condition and it came out of the original collection of Veda Marie Rogers Schutt (1897-1966). It was collected in 1948 or 1953, the years she was in New Mexico. Veda was an artist who also collected art while on her travels through Europe, North Africa, the Near East, and South America. She had a vast collection of paintings by several Taos artists and southwestern antiques.
