- Circa: 1960s
- Size: 28''
53 grams, 28" length. The clamshell heishi pieces measure approximately 2mm x 3mm (0.07" x 0.11"), each, and the silver beads measure 7mm (0.27"), each. The word “heishi” means “shell,” although today it is often used to describe the cut style of beads that are small, flat, disc-shaped. This necklace is in excellent condition. The silver has acquired a nice, even patina. The silver beads are hand made. This is strung on foxtail chain. Acquired from a private collection in New Mexico. Ex Popovi Da Studio collection. Includes original Popovi Da Studio of Indian Arts box.
