Pen and ink. 20" x 26" total mat size. "Horse Studies" 10.5" x 8" (unframed) "Horse" 10.5" x 7.75" (unframed) Ex private collection, Arizona. Exhibited in the 1990-1991 T.C. Cannon - Native American: A New View of the West, at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Center in Oklahoma City, and the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indian and Western Art, in Indianapolis. Illustrated in the exhibition catalog by William Wallo and John Pickard (with the same title as the exhibition) as figures 60 and 61, on page 45. The original printed exhibition labels of the NCHF are affixed to the back of the mat, indicating they were loaned by Cannon's father, Walter Cannon. Acquired from the sales exhibition, "From the Sketchbooks of T.C. Cannon", Wheelwright Museum, Case Trading Post, August 2016. All pieces in the exhibition were loaned by the Estate of T.C. Cannon through Cannon's sister, Joyce Cannon Yi.
