Ex Arizona collection. The owner acquired this from Little Indian Trading Company in Gallup, New Mexico, in 1962. Her husband was the former owner of a multi-generational Native American arts and crafts business, starting with his grandparents. He worked as an educator, Assistant to the Director of the Lowie Museum of Anthropology, now Phoebe Apperson Hearst Museum, and Director of the Arizona State Museum, while maintaining his family business until his passing in 2008.

This bracelet was displayed at the Arizona State Museum "Set in Stone: 2000 Years of Gem and Mineral Trade in the Southwest" exhibition (December 17, 2007, to March 31, 2010). This exhibit stated, "Proprietor of Little Indian Trading Co. was Mr. Leroy Atkinson, Sr. He commissioned these cluster bracelets to serve as trade pieces for freshly-picked pinon nuts. Approximately 50 were made each season."
