Necklace with Prayer Feathers and Kachina Design: 95.8g, 23.75" length, 11" x 3.75" center pendant. Earrings with Prayer Feathers: 8.6g, 1.75" x 0.875", each. Hallmarked by the artist on verso. Includes a Third Place Ribbon from Gallup Intertribal Indian Ceremonial, 1991. Ex Arizona collection. The owner acquired this jewelry set directly from the artist on the Hopi Reservation. Her husband was the former owner of a multi-generational Native American arts and crafts business, starting with his grandparents. During his life, he worked as an educator, Assistant to the Director of the Lowie Museum of Anthropology (now Phoebe Apperson Hearst Museum), and Director of the Arizona State Museum, while maintaining the family business, until his passing in 2008.
