Additional Information

  • Circa: 1950s
  • Size: 61.5'' x 33''

This weaving is in very good condition. Two corners have been repaired, one 1" by 1" repair and the other 1" x 0.75" repair. There is some pilling to the wool, which is to be expected from use. The corner tassels have been worn off, but the corners are stable. There are no holes, stains, moth damage, or fading. Acquired from a private collection in Arizona. The owner inherited from a friend, who would visit the Navajo reservation and Hopi Pueblo in the 1950-60s, and would purchase directly from the artisans. His parents moved to Arizona in 1947 and purchased a grocery store in Mesa, where they served until 1952 when they founded Van's Mobile Homes, aka called Van's RV Trailer Co., which is now in the Sun City Area.
