Maria Martinez (1887-1980) and Julian Martinez (1885-1943) - San Ildefonso Polychrome Pictorial Tile with Eagle Dancer c. 1920, 11.5" diameter (P2184)

This pottery is in very good condition. There is slight surface wear, craquelure, and fire clouds on the backside. Includes a custom stand. Acquired from the New York State Historical Society collection. They received it from a private collector who had collected from the 1870s to the 1930s. Commissioned for a Boys' Boarding School in Los Alamos in 1920s.
