Largest spoon is 83g and measures 8.5" x 2.5". Medium sized spoon is 50g and measures 7" x 1.5". Smallest spoons are 35g each and measure 6.5" x 1.25". Acquired from a private collection in Arizona. Owner is the daughter of the silversmith who created this piece, Ralph Tawangyaouma (1906-1973), Hopi Pueblo, Corn Clan. He was the husband of Caroline Tawangyaouma and first cousin of Pierce Kewanwytewa. Ralph is remembered as one of the finest traditional Hopi silversmiths and is valued among collectors. Ralph was also a Two-Horn Priest, and led a very spiritual Hopi life. He witnessed the split at Oraibi in 1906 and was among the traditional leaders, to include Yukiuma and Dan Katchongva, who established Hotevilla. These spoons were made by Ralph Tawangyaouma for his wife, Caroline, and include her initials "C.H.T." as a hallmark.
