36.6g, 1" bandwidth, size 6.75 including 1.25" gap. There is a horizontal crack in the middle of the stone visible with magnification. Acquired from a private collection in Colorado. Number 8 turquoise is highly sought after by collectors. It was discovered in 1925 and was named Number 8, as it is an 8 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. Most turquoise is 4 or 5 on the Mohs scale.
