Sioux Strike-a-Light Beaded Leather Bag c. 1890s, 4" x 3" (DW91310B-1213-007)

The bag is in good condition. The top flap is missing, so you can see torn leather on one edge at the top. The leather is stiff, which is expected for its age. There is only one strand of missing green beads on one side, about 2” long. There are missing tinklers at the bottom. Old beadwork like this one will often have wear and missing beads and tinklers. Family provenance included. This bag was exhibited at "Mad for Modernism: Earl Horter and His Collection" at the Philadelphia Museum of Art March 7 - May 16, 1999.The owner has authorized us to lower the price from $1,100 to $565.
