12" tall with stand. This basket is in very good condition. Acquired from a private collection in Canada. The owner inherited this basket from her great aunt, who was a noted Alberta artist. Some of her work resides in the Glenbow Museum in Calgary, the National Gallery of Canada, former Prime Minister of Canada Joe Clark, Museum of the Highwood in Alberta, The Banff Centre in Alberta, the Canadian Pacific Railway Collection in Alberta, and the Feckless Collection in British Columbia. The aunt had travelled extensively throughout the southwestern United States to paint, attend art shows, or visit family members. This basket was passed down through the family. Includes a letter of provenance and a biography on the artist.
