Chemeheuvi Native American basket makers traditionally resided in the Mojave Desert in California and Arizona. Chemeheuvi Indian basket weavers like the Apache basket makers created ollas, trays and bowls from coiled willow and martynia (Devil's Claw) on a three rod foundation.
