Additional Information

  • Circa: 1980
  • Size: 8''

8" tall with feathers. Original Kachina designation comes from “Hopi Kachina Dolls With a Key to Their Identification” by Harold S. Colton, 1959. Acquired from a private collection in Florida. This kachina is from the Layne collection. Dr. Layne collected between 1980 and 2002, and is a vertebrate zoologist. He had a lifelong interest in Native American cultures. Dr. Layne kept a catalog of his collection and documented the Hopi carver's name and location, type of kachina, and published reference for the designation. Due to the fragile nature of these dolls, we do not guarantee their condition. Dolls may have missing accouterments, repaired limbs, or broken parts.
