- Circa: 1980s
9.3g, size 7, 0.75" x 0.625". Acquired from a private collection in Arizona. The owner inherited from her mother, who collected for over 40 years on the reservation. The tortoise turquoise mine is located in the Candelaria Hills of Nevada, and it comes in a variety of colors. Its host rock is manganese. The stones in this item show the red coloration from the natural iron deposits in the mine.
