This piece is in good condition. There is some bead loss. Acquired from a private collection in Arizona. The owner recently purchased this at an estate sale, who had purchased it about three or four months ago, at an outdoor market from a woman who was in her 80s. The Huichol live in the northern part of the states of Nayarit and Jalisco and in the southern parts of Durango and Zacatecas, Mexico. The beaded art is a wooden form covered with beeswax, and then one by one, the beads are picked up by a long needle and placed in the wax. This is a very intricate work of art.
