33" x 28" framed. Weighs 15 pounds. Charcoal, Colored Pencil, Conte Crayon on Paper. Initialed and dated in the lower right corner. Acquired from a private collection in California. Includes an original letter dated April 12, 2004 by a previous owner, Gary Nesbitt explaining the provenance. Maynard Dixon gifted this to Monroe Montgomery in 1946. Monroe had gifted it to his granddaughter Claudia Nesbitt in 1959. This drawing was exhibited at the Tucson Museum of Art in 1993-94 in an exhibition titled "Desert Dreams: The Art of Maynard Dixon." Includes show tag on verso. Includes original board backing with Maynard Dixon's title in his hand and his San Francisco address. The drawing is in excellent condition. The frame shows very minimal wear. This was published in "Maynard Dixon: The Life of Maynard Dixon" by Donald Hagerty, page 215. A copy of the cover and page are included.
