13.25" tall with stand included. This kachina is in good condition. There is some surface wear. There are chips to the wood on the front and the back of the base, as well as minor splitting to the wood on the backside. The feathers and strings are intact on the head. One of the legs is slightly loose. Acquired from a private collection in Arizona. It was previously owned by Judith Chafee (1932-1998), and is published in “Powerhouse: The Life and Work of Judith Chafee” on page 46. Pictures of the book cover and page 46 are included. Chafee was a famed Tucson architect. She had acquired this from her mother, who was an anthropologist and traveled and collected in the Southwest from the 1930s to the 1950s.
