SOLD Maynard Dixon (1875-1946) - Double Sided Illustrated Letter to Caroline Monteith
- Circa: June 14, 1897
- Size: 8'' x 10''
17.25" x 19.25" framed. Ink and conte crayon on paper. Includes original envelope postmarked June 14, 1897. Letter reads: "Unless it is inconvenient to you, or something else should come up from the Unknown, I shall surely be over on Saturday afternoon and bring mother or Nell with me. If this would interfere with anything you have planned please let me know. Reb is away in Stockton, enjoying a summer vacation in a night-gown, fighting flies, mosquitos and a cold—and doing it rather unsuccessfully I imagine, from the parts of her letters forbidden to me;—especially as regards the cold, as she seems to have no money for medication left over from buying corsets and things.—Appropriate cartoon!—The rest of us are taking ours at home. With regards (and appropriate sentiments) to the family. Your friend, L. Maynard Dixon"
