Additional Information

Alaskan Tray is 7.5 by 7 inches. Tohono O'dham tray, circa 1940, is 9.5 by 8.75 inches. The basket woven over a plastic bottle is 12.5 by 3.5 inches. Acquired from a major Arizona collection of a life long collector. The collection consists of 155 early Native American baskets and also includes pottery, beadwork, a rug, a necklace, and Alaskan masks. The total is over 180 pieces. Ms. Foard started collecting older Native American baskets in June 1960. She kept a log for nearly sixty years and many of the pieces have collection history. An avid collector of Native American art, she visited Medicine Man Gallery for years and upon her death instructed that her collection be sold so it could be shared with other collectors.
