Curt Brill - Seated Figure I

Additional Information

  • Medium: Bronze
  • Edition: 5
  • Size: 7.5'' x 10.5'' x 3.5''

Seated Figure I is a slice-of-life depicting a person in a quiet, contemplative moment.

Similar to Reclining Figure II, the model for this sculpture was actually on break and not “trying to pose.”

A crucial factor for Brill is that his sculpture has flow so that the viewer takes a visual journey through the shapes and texture of the piece.

Here, the first thing that will likely catch your attention is the head. Notice how the geometry between the nod of the head and the curl of the foot directs your eye from the foot back to the head (i.e., the beginning of the journey).

This bronze sculpture measures 7.5" x 10.5" x 3.5" and is on a 1.5" x 13" x 6" granite base.

Seated Figure I is also available in a monumental version. Please contact the gallery to learn more.
