This piece is in good condition; there is a small hole on the side and the leather shows signs of wear. The owner's father purchased this piece directly from a chief who lived near Manitou Springs. His English was limited so instead of writing his name, he drew his picture on the top and bottom of the drum. Acquired from a private collection in Florida. The owner's father was a collector of Native American art who mostly collected from 1947 to 1955.
