15.5" x 15.5" framed. ARTIST COMMENTS: Somewhere between Sedona and Cottonwood Arizona, I got a bit lost on a back road. I don’t particularly mind this, as I am pretty capable of finding my way back to civilization, and I had a rough idea of the turns I had made that had brought me to this point. As I am wont to do, I got out of my truck to scout for some painting possibilities, and while I didn’t find much with the sun in the sky, this little view really stood out to me once the Moon peeked over the horizon. I love pattern and color, and this view has both in spades. I did a quick sketch and a hasty study on the spot, which I used as my reference for this work. I understand that some native tribes describe our journey through life on this earth as “walking the red road”, so I decided, given the nature of this place and my journey to it, that that would make a good title.
