ARTIST COMMENTS: The Grand Valley, where I reside, is bordered on the south by the cliffs and canyons of Colorado National Monument. Up on the plateau above the Monument is an area known as Glade Park – a very sparsely populated and scenic area of sagebrush, pinon, juniper, and sandstone outcroppings. I have spent a considerable amount of time exploring this area – it has an interesting feel, a very quiet but definite energy about it, almost a kind of magic or aura. I happened upon this scene quite by accident one evening, and that’s part of the magic for me – I’ve had a lot of “happy accident” discoveries here. It is always showing me some new aspect I haven’t seen before.
