41.5" x 31.75" framed. "This is John Wayne in his first starring role in 1930, 'The Big Trail', it was directed by Raul Walsh. The female is Marguerite Churchill. It was a huge epic film about the first wagon train to cross the country on the Oregon Trail. Wayne is the wagon master who leads the covered wagons and pioneers across flooding rivers and over mountain ranges and dates with Indian ambushes, etc. The painting is a satire on the movie. John Wayne didn't actually lose the entire wagon train". - Billy Schenck
