This piece is in very good condition; there is some bead loss and ethnographic wear. The beads are sewn with sinew, and the cordage is out of finely spun rawhide. With the custom stand it is 11" tall. Acquired from a private collection in Arizona. The Meyers family traveled using gas ration tickets in the 1940s, traveling from Wilmington, OH all the way along Route 66. During this journey, they collected antique Indian beadwork and Navajo weavings. Neil Meyers was a a large farm animal veterinarian, so he had lots of gas ration tickets to use for travel.
